Getting
a proper description
of your pony to a seller without a photograph can be difficult.
This is a concise guide on grading your pony’s condition and
conveying the proper message to the seller. If you are selling ponies
and want to build a good reputation in the pony community, good communication
is key.
Grading
Scale:
| Mint—Means
no flaws, none. All parts of the pony are in its original states, body, symbols,
paints, etc. |
| Near
Mint---Means that pony has no major flaws, only something
that is very slight. For
example, the factory curl may no longer be in original state. Also, there may be a tiny dot on pony’s body, etc.
|
| Good—Pony
has some flaws, such as small haircuts, symbol wear, playwear,
some spotting. Flaws
should be slightly noticeable at first glance. |
| Fair---Pony
has several flaws, which are noted at first glance.
The pony may have symbol rub, haircuts of sorts, flocking
loss, etc. |
| Poor—Pony
is a custom bait pony.
Severe haircuts, no symbols or symbol rub, and parts
of plastic missing are in this category. |
The
My Little Pony Seller's Golden Rule: Always properly convey the pony that is being sold to the buyer.
The buyer has a right to know what they are getting.
Some people only collect mint ponies, and when they say mint,
they mean mint. Well, here
are a few ideas on the grading of ponies. Here's a good description
example:
I have a fair conditioned Rainbow Pony Trickles.
She has suffered some glitter loss on right side on two of the
watering cans, has a very slight tail cut, ˝ inch, and has marker under
foot.
