Mexican ponies have several similar
characteristics to other Middle and Southern American ponies. Each was produced
by a subsidiary company under the contract of Hasbro, some may have the logo
stamped in the hoof and some may have blank
hooves, some may have the long eyelashes, long hair or brittle hair. As far
as I can understand, Lili Leby produced all Mexican My Little Ponies; though
not all of them bear the Lili Leby emblem.Strangely, Mexican ponies are among
the very few ponies that don't have a copyright date on the hooves (some Grecian
ponies do not have a copyright date). In the hoof example to the right...the
left hoof says Lili Leby and the right hoof says Made in Mexico (in Spanish).
The other to hooves are blank and all hooves are flat. The more common
hoof type is completely blank hooves.
The hoof photograph on the right is copyrighted by Melusine. There are also Mexican playsets;
most seemingly similar to the U. S. counterparts. They came with the variant
ponies and Spanish boxes, making them easily distinguishable. You will notice, that many of the
variants are loosely or closely based on actual early U. S. My Little Ponies.
Many of the variants are similar to German variants, which also had Princess
and Sundae Best variants. Some variants are so closely related to the U. S.
versions that they are hard to tell apart. The long hair is an obvious factor
in some cases. Also, some have thick eyelashes; common to Middle and South American
variants.
Collector Ponies
Blossom (earth
pony) is lavender with purple hair and white blossoms. She has purple
eyes (like the U. S. version). She also has flat feet with Lili Leby inscribed
into the hoof. She is very similar to the U.
S. version of Blossom. Thanks to Melusine for letting me use this photo;
copyrighted, do not take!
Blossom (earth
pony) is lavender with long purple hair and white blossoms. She has purple
eyes (like the U. S. version). Her hooves have no markings on them. She
is very similar to the U.
S. version of Blossom, except with much longer hair. She actually came with
a version of the Show Stable identical to the one sold in the U. S.; except
for Spanish writing instead of English. Thanks to Mariana for letting me
use this photo.

Earth
PoniesBowtie (earth
pony) is blue gray with long deep pink hair with six pink bow ties as her symbol.
She has blue eyes, unlike the U. S. version. Her hooves have no markings
on them. Her head should be tilting in the normal shy pose, but has been slanted.
She is very similar to the U.
S. version, though she varies slightly in body color and her mane is longer.
Thanks to Karina for letting
me use this photo.
PeachyPeachy/Snuzzle (earth pony) is peach with pink/peach hair and purple hearts for her symbol.
Please note that I'm not absolutely sure of the exact hair color; also, her
mane may have been cut. She has blue eyes (like the U. S. version).
Her hooves have no markings on them. I would say that she is based loosely upon
Peachy or the U.
S. Snuzzle. Thanks to
Mariana for letting me use this photo.
Princess
Ponies Princess Dawn (earth pony) is pink with completely purple hair with no tinsel. Her symbol
is a crown-shaped medallion. She has golden eyes. Her hooves have no markings
on them. She is very similar to the U.
S. version. However, she is lacking the tinsel that comes standard with
U. S. Princess Ponies. Also, below, you can see the accessories that came with
her. Unlike U. S. issues, she came with a lovely silver glittery stars comb.
Thanks to Karina for letting me use this photo.
